Katakana Literary Work

1.
しんごうは                               traffic light is
きいろてんめつ                      flashing yellow
アクセルだ                             "accel pedal!"

2.
しゅくだいは                           (turning in)homework
しめきりまぢか                       on deadline
ギリギリだ                              the very last moment

3.
つぎこそは                             next time (finally)
ブロンドかのじょ                    BLOND girl friend
ゲットするぜ                          I will GET one!

    Why do I use Katakana?
    "accel" is an English loan word.
    Effect of Katakana?
    It is the most important verb in my senryu, so this katakana word brings bigger impact. In other words, when flashig yellow light (traffic signal), drivers should stop in common sense. However, most drivers accelarate their cars.

    Why do I use Katakana?
    It is an Onomatopoeia
    Effect of Katakana?
    It emphasizes the feeling of "just on time". When one submits homework on time, he or she feels relieved. However, one cannot make it,...

    3.
    Why do I use Katakana?
    Both are English loan words
    Effect of Katakana?
    They make my senryu funny. Whenever one has tried to make "Blond" girl friend, but he has failed. It implies his strong willingness.
